Who We Are
Emancipet is on a mission to make spay/neuter and preventive veterinary care affordable and accessible to every pet owner. We are motivated by our love for animals, and the profound joy that can only come from a life shared with healthy, happy pets. Moreover, we believe that the lack of affordable, accessible spay/neuter and preventive care for pets is the primary cause of our nation’s animal homelessness crisis. The services we provide are limited to those that reduce animal homelessness and ensure healthy pets stay healthy: spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchips, and parasite prevention, all provided according to the highest quality standards.
Where We Are
For the past 14 years, Emancipet has built strong mobile and stationary clinic practices in Central Texas, serving almost 50,000 pets each year. We are now opening a new high-volume clinic location to bring safe, affordable spay/neuter and preventive vet care to the Killeen/Fort Hood Region. We are seeking a Medical Director who will serve as the chief veterinarian for Emancipet Killeen and oversee a small team of veterinarians to ensure all medical care provided from this location meets our highquality standards and SOPs.
Who We Need
Our Medical Director is responsible for the comfort and safety of all patients at Emancipet Killeen, and for sharing information with clients with compassion and empathy. The Medical Director serves as the veterinarian of record for Emancipet Killeen, performs high-volume spay/neuter surgery at least 3 shifts per week, and is the direct supervisor for all veterinarians working in this location. The Medical Director provides his or her team of veterinarians with support, guidance, and training in our protocols, SOPs, client communications, and surgical techniques. The Medical Director will also proactively reach out to and develop professional, friendly, and mutually-beneficial relationships with local veterinarians, promoting Emancipet Killeen and our mission within the veterinary community.
Our ideal Medical Director has a deep, personal passion for our mission, is committed to serving the people and pets of the Killeen/Fort Hood community, and is an outstanding communicator. The
Medical Director for Emancipet Killeen must have, at a minimum, a DVM and a license to practice veterinary medicine in Texas and two years of management experience. At least one year of experience as a high volume spay/neuter surgeon (25-30 surgeries per day) is preferred.
Is It You?
There’s a chance you may be our ideal MD if you meet the description above, and if:
• The only thing you love more than learning a new surgical technique is teaching others – you are never happier than when you are helping another doctor master something new.
• Serving the underserved has always been important to you – you volunteer, you donate, and you love to be of service to those in need
• You are the problem solver in your family and at work – everyone knows they can come to you for a fresh perspective and a new way of solving tough challenges
